How CheckAI checks your AI visibility

The steps in detail

1. Enter your website

   Type your website address. That's all it takes to start, and the free check needs no sign-up. No website? Enter your business name and what you offer instead.

2. We read your website

   We read your homepage to understand what you offer, where and for whom. In this example: mietzins-senkung.ch, Mietzinssenkung berechnen und beantragen, Schweiz. You can correct every field before anything is asked.

3. Six questions a customer would ask

   From that, we draft six questions a real customer might type, such as “Welche Online-Rechner und Anhieter empfehlen Sie für die Berechnung der Mietzinssenkung in Zürich?”. They cover different intents: the best option, a comparison, price, trust and urgency. Edit them, delete them or write your own.

4. Asked to four assistants

   Each question goes to ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot, logged out, the way a new customer would ask. That makes 24 answers. You watch them arrive one by one; a check usually takes 60 to 80 seconds. This example ran on all four, as the Single Check and the plans do; the free check asks ChatGPT and Google AI Mode.

5. Named in 3 of 24 answers

   We read every answer and list the businesses it names. mietzins-senkung.ch was named in 3 of 24, and you see the split per assistant. AI answers vary from one ask to the next, so we also show a likely range: here 5 to 27 %.

6. Who is named instead

   Every business the answers name, counted. Here Mieterinnen- und Mieterverband Zürich came up in 16 of 24 answers. This shows the other businesses named in these answers.

7. Read the actual answer

   Open any answer to read it the way the assistant wrote it, with your business marked and the sources it linked. You can switch to plain text to copy it.

8. What the answers cite

   Many answers include links to web pages. In this check mieterverband.ch was cited in 15 answers. A citation does not prove why a business was named, but it shows where to look first. Part of the Single Check and the plans.

9. Google and Bing next to AI

   For a few search terms you also see your classic position on Google and Bing, whether Google showed an AI Overview, and twelve months of Google Trends. This lets you compare the AI answers with ordinary search results. Part of the Single Check and the plans.

10. Tracking over time

    One check is a snapshot. Tracking asks your questions again every week (every day on Pro) and emails you the result. We show whether a change is bigger than normal variation. The chart in this step is an illustration.

11. What to check next

    Each check ends with up to three concrete things to check, each tied to a number from the check; the free check shows the first. It is a starting point, not a promise: nobody can guarantee that an assistant will name you.
