Names as the assistants wrote them, grouped when they meant the same business. One run per question: answers change from run to run, so treat this as a snapshot. We are not affiliated with any business listed and don't rank or endorse them. How we measure

What the answers show about language schools in Denver

Our data On October 14 we asked ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot six questions someone in Denver might ask when looking for a language school. All 24 answers came back, and together they named 44 different schools and programs. 27 of them were named only once. It was one run per question, so read the counts as a snapshot, not a ranking.

One name stood out. Journey Language Center was named in 20 of 24 answers, by all four assistants, and by Gemini in every one of its 6 answers. The Art of Spanish Institute followed with 15 answers and Colorado School of English with 12. Alliance Française de Denver (7) and English Learning Center (4) were also named by all four assistants. The Language School reached 9 answers and Spanish Learning Network 6, both mostly from Google AI Mode.

For a language school, this means a handful of names came back repeatedly, while the rest shared the remaining slots. Test both a broad question and questions about your specific language or format to see the difference for your school.

Not only language schools

The answers did not stick to private schools. Asked for an affordable language school, Google AI Mode named 11 options, including community colleges, a public library, a school district and a family resource center. University of Denver programs, Community College of Denver and New America College appeared in several answers. In the question about a Spanish class starting this week, Gemini also named Wyzant and Italki, and Copilot named Preply, which are online tutoring platforms. A private school competes with low-cost public programs and online platforms, not only with other schools.

The Berlitz question named Berlitz first

Asked for local alternatives to Berlitz, Google AI Mode, Gemini and Copilot each put Berlitz itself first, followed by local schools such as Journey Language Center and Colorado School of English. ChatGPT left Berlitz out and named six local schools and programs. A question built around a known name often returns that name too.

Google Maps: high stars, many reviews

Our data 5 of the 6 Google AI Mode answers came as Google Maps places, 26 schools in total. They averaged 4.8 stars, and 88 percent had 4.5 stars or more. The median place had 118 reviews; the one with the fewest had 23.

That does not show why a particular school appeared. It does show that the schools in these Maps answers had, for the most part, a substantial number of reviews. For local questions, the Google Business Profile is part of what an assistant can show, next to the website.

Which websites the answers cite for language schools

Our data ChatGPT and Copilot attached source links to all 6 of their answers; Google AI Mode and Gemini did so once each. The most-cited website was journeylanguagecenter.com (9 of 24 answers), followed by newamericacollege.edu (5), afdenver.org and englishlearningcenterdenver.org (4 each) and the University of Denver's liberalarts.du.edu (3). ccd.edu, freeu.com, thelanguageschool.us, nld.org, Yelp and Reddit were cited in 2 answers each.

So in Denver, the sources were mostly schools' and colleges' own websites, not directories or review sites. ChatGPT cited the widest range, up to 9 websites in one answer, including course registration pages, a public library catalog and Meetup in the question about a class starting this week.

Where language schools are usually listed and reviewed (advice): the Google Business Profile (it feeds Google Maps), Yelp, Meetup groups and local event listings for conversation classes, community education catalogs, cultural institutes and consulates for the language you teach, and, for English programs, accreditation bodies and the government list of schools that may enroll international students.

How students ask AI assistants about language schools in Denver

Our six questions covered the best school for Spanish or French, evening classes for working professionals, affordability, student ratings and experienced teachers, a conversational Spanish class starting this week, and alternatives to Berlitz. Students usually name the language, their level and their schedule. Questions worth testing, written the way people type them:

  • "Beginner Italian class in Denver on weekday evenings, small group"
  • "Business German course for a company team in the Denver Tech Center"
  • "ESL classes in Aurora with a placement test and childcare"
  • "Spanish lessons for a nurse in Lakewood, medical vocabulary"
  • "Saturday French class for kids in Highlands Ranch"

Use the languages, levels and neighborhoods you actually serve. A narrow question is where a smaller school has room next to the names above.

What a language school can check to show up in AI answers

Advice: these checks are concrete and most take an afternoon. None of them can promise a mention; they make it easier for anyone reading about your school to describe it correctly.

  1. Publish the schedule as text. Languages, levels, days and times, start dates and course length on a web page, not only in a PDF or a booking widget. Two of our questions asked about evening classes and a class starting this week.
  2. State prices plainly. Price per course or per hour, materials, registration fees and any discounts. One question asked for an affordable school, and public programs with low fees were named next to private schools.
  3. Explain how a new student starts. Placement test, trial lesson, rolling enrollment or fixed start dates: say how soon someone can begin.
  4. Give each language and format a page. Spanish, French, English as a second language, private lessons, corporate classes, kids' classes: one clear page each, with levels and schedule.
  5. Describe your teachers. One question asked about experienced teachers. Names, native languages, qualifications and years of teaching, as text, answer it directly.
  6. Keep the Google Business Profile complete. The Maps places in our answers had a median of 118 reviews. Check category, address, hours, parking or transit information and photos of classrooms, and ask students for a review when a course ends.

How to check whether ChatGPT names your language school

Write down five or six questions your students would ask, with Denver or their neighborhood, the language and the schedule they need, and ask several assistants. Note who is named, in which order, and which websites are cited, then repeat after a few weeks, because answers change. CheckAI checks your own customer questions across the same four assistants and shows the names and cited websites for every answer; a first check on ChatGPT and Google AI Mode is free. Our guide on how to check if ChatGPT names your business walks through the manual version.

Questions

Which language schools does ChatGPT recommend in Denver?
In our October 14 run, the four assistants gave 44 different names in 24 answers, 27 of them only once. Journey Language Center was named most often, in 20 of 24 answers. One run per question, so a snapshot, not a ranking.
Do reviews matter for ChatGPT naming a language school in Denver?
We can't say how an assistant weighs them. In this run, the 26 Google Maps places in Google AI Mode's answers averaged 4.8 stars with a median of 118 reviews, and 88 percent had 4.5 stars or more; the fewest reviews were 23. As advice, ask students for a review at the end of a course, because future students read them.
Does a language school's own website matter for AI answers?
In our answers, schools' own sites were among the most-cited sources: journeylanguagecenter.com in 9 of 24 answers, newamericacollege.edu in 5, afdenver.org and englishlearningcenterdenver.org in 4 each. We cannot say why a site was cited. As advice, keep schedules and prices clear for prospective students.
Does ChatGPT send people to online platforms instead of local language schools?
Sometimes. In the question about a conversational Spanish class starting this week, Gemini named Wyzant and Italki and Copilot named Preply, next to local schools. Most names in our answers were still local schools and programs.
How can I check whether ChatGPT names my language school?
Ask several assistants the questions your students ask, with Denver or their neighborhood written in, and repeat over a few weeks. CheckAI does this with your own questions across four assistants; a first check on ChatGPT and Google AI Mode is free.
