Names as the assistants wrote them, grouped when they meant the same business. One run per question: answers change from run to run, so treat this as a snapshot. We are not affiliated with any business listed and don't rank or endorse them. How we measure

What ChatGPT and other assistants named for Philadelphia cleaning companies

Our data On October 14 we asked ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot six questions a customer in Philadelphia might ask about home and office cleaning. All 24 answers came back. Together they named 68 different businesses and apps, and 42 of those were named only once. Only 3 were named by all four assistants.

No company came close to appearing in most answers. NaturallyNeat Cleaning Services was named in 9 of 24 answers, by all four assistants. Scrub! Residential Cleaning followed with 8, also from all four, and Philly Maid Green with 6. Cleanzen also reached 8 answers, but 5 of them came from Copilot. Janus Clean and Hometress Cleaning Service were named in 7 each, from three assistants.

The assistants gave lists of very different length. Copilot named 50 businesses across its 6 answers, ChatGPT only 28. In one answer, about alternatives to Handy, Copilot listed 18 names. For a cleaning company, being named in such a list means being one name among many; in a ChatGPT answer with four names, the competition is narrower.

Apps and marketplaces in the answers

Not every name was a cleaning company. TaskRabbit was named in 3 answers, all from Gemini, Homeaglow in 3, and TIDY, Handy, Thumbtack and Angi also appeared. Gemini's answer to the same-day question named TaskRabbit, TIDY and Homeaglow first and only one local company. In the low-rates question, Copilot named Care.com and then four individual cleaners by first name and initial; care.com was among the sites it cited for that answer. A local company is competing with booking apps in some of these answers, not only with other companies.

Google AI Mode answered with Google Maps places

Our data All 6 of Google AI Mode's answers came as Google Maps places: 28 in total. They averaged 4.8 stars, 93% had 4.5 stars or more, and the median number of reviews was 127. The range was wide, though: one place had only 3 reviews. That does not show that reviews are the reason a company was shown, but a well-rated listing with a modest number of reviews was not out of place here.

All counts come from one run per question on October 14. Read them as a snapshot, not a ranking; a name in an answer is a mention, not necessarily a recommendation.

Where the names come from: websites cited for Philadelphia cleaning companies

Our data ChatGPT and Copilot attached source links to all 6 of their answers, Google AI Mode and Gemini to 1 each. The most-cited website was expertise.com (7 of 24 answers), a site that publishes lists of local businesses; Copilot cited it in 4 of its answers. After that came hometress.com, the site of a cleaning company (4), reviews.birdeye.com and homeadvisor.com (3 each), then angi.com, care.com, tidy.com and homeaglow.com (2 each).

Cleaning companies' own websites were cited too. For the question about eco-friendly products for pet owners, ChatGPT linked to 10 different websites, most of them cleaning companies' own pages, including phillymaidgreen.com and holistichomellc.com. That answer named Philly Maid Green first, as did Google AI Mode and Gemini.

For a cleaning company, that means the names in these answers come from list and review sites, home service marketplaces, Google's own Maps listings and, for specific needs like green products, the companies' own service pages.

Where US cleaning companies are usually listed and reviewed (advice): Google Business Profile (it feeds Google Maps), Yelp, Angi, Thumbtack, Nextdoor and the Better Business Bureau. If you also take bookings through a marketplace such as Care.com, check that your profile there uses the same company name and details as your website.

How customers ask about Philadelphia cleaning companies

Our six questions covered a general recommendation, a specific need (eco-friendly products for pet owners), low rates, ratings and reputation, same-day service and alternatives to Handy. The responses to the last question differed: Google AI Mode named Handy itself first, while ChatGPT named only platforms such as Thumbtack, Angi, Yelp and Nextdoor.

Real customers ask with more detail: the type of clean, the size of the home or office, the day. Questions worth testing, written the way people type them:

  • "Move-out cleaning in Fishtown this Saturday, who still has availability?"
  • "Biweekly house cleaner for a 3-bedroom row home in South Philly"
  • "Office cleaning for a 15-person office in Center City Philadelphia, evenings only"
  • "Deep clean after a kitchen renovation in Manayunk"
  • "Insured cleaning service on the Main Line that brings its own supplies"

Use your own neighborhoods, the jobs you want more of and the words your clients use. A question with no place in it can return companies in another city.

What a cleaning company can check about how AI assistants name it

Advice: these checks are practical and most take an afternoon. None of them can promise a mention; they make the facts about your company easier to find and harder to get wrong.

  1. Separate home and office cleaning. Give residential and commercial cleaning their own pages, and list the types of clean you offer: standard, deep, move-in and move-out, post-construction, recurring. Say what each one includes, room by room.
  2. Explain how pricing works. Flat rate by bedrooms and bathrooms, hourly rate, minimum visit, extras like inside the oven or fridge. One of our questions asked about low rates; a clear "how we price" section is easier to describe than "call for a quote".
  3. Name your products and policies. If you use green or pet-safe products, say which kind and why in plain text, not only with a leaf icon. One of our six questions asked for exactly this.
  4. State availability and booking. Do you take same-day or next-day jobs? Which days and hours do you work? Can clients book online? Keep these details identical on your site, Google Business Profile and any marketplace profile.
  5. Put trust details on the page. Background checks, insurance and bonding, whether teams are employees, a re-clean or satisfaction guarantee. Customers letting someone into their home look for this, and it belongs in text.
  6. List your service area. Neighborhoods and suburbs you cover (for example Center City, Fishtown, South Philly, Manayunk, the Main Line), on a service area page and in your Google Business Profile.
  7. Check the list sites that were cited. Open the expertise.com, HomeAdvisor and Angi pages for cleaning in Philadelphia. Are you listed? Is your name spelled the same way everywhere?

How to check if ChatGPT names your own cleaning company

Write five or six questions your clients would ask, with Philadelphia or your neighborhood in them, and ask several assistants the same questions. Note who is named, which apps show up and which websites are cited, then repeat in a few weeks, because the answers change. CheckAI checks your own customer questions across the same four assistants and shows the names and the cited websites for each answer; a first check on ChatGPT and Google AI Mode is free.

Questions

Do Google reviews matter for a cleaning company to be named by ChatGPT?
We can't say how each assistant weighs reviews. What we saw: the 28 places Google AI Mode showed from Google Maps averaged 4.8 stars, 93% had 4.5 or more, and the median was 127 reviews, though one had only 3. As advice, asking regular clients for reviews is worth doing for new customers comparing cleaners anyway.
Are cleaning apps like TaskRabbit or Homeaglow competing with my company in AI answers?
In this run, yes, in some answers: TaskRabbit was named in 3 answers (all from Gemini), Homeaglow in 3, and Gemini's answer about same-day service named only apps and one company. Whether that matters depends on which questions your customers ask.
Which websites do ChatGPT and other assistants cite for cleaning companies in Philadelphia?
expertise.com was the most-cited site (7 of 24 answers), followed by hometress.com (4), reviews.birdeye.com and homeadvisor.com (3 each). Your own results may differ by question.
How can I check whether ChatGPT names my cleaning company?
Ask the questions your clients ask, with Philadelphia or your neighborhood written in, to several assistants, and repeat them over a few weeks. CheckAI does this with your own questions across four assistants; a first check on ChatGPT and Google AI Mode is free.
