Which Denver dentists do ChatGPT and other AI assistants name?
ChatGPT and three other assistants named widely spread dentists in Denver: 24 answers named 73 different practices and clinics, 39 of them only once, and no practice appeared in more than 8 of 24 answers. All 30 practices Google AI Mode showed from Google Maps had 4.5 stars or more.
In short
- 73 different practices, clinics and services were named in 24 answers; 39 came up only once, and only 5 were named by all four assistants.
- The most-named practice appeared in 8 of 24 answers, so one check says little about where a single Denver practice stands.
- Specific needs brought agreement: for a same-day emergency, all four assistants named the same two emergency practices.
- All 6 Google AI Mode answers came as Google Maps places: 30 practices, 4.9 stars on average, a median of about 690 reviews and at least 187 each.

Names as the assistants wrote them, grouped when they meant the same business. One run per question: answers change from run to run, so treat this as a snapshot. We are not affiliated with any business listed and don't rank or endorse them. How we measure
What ChatGPT and other assistants named for Denver dentists
Our data On October 14 we asked ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot six questions a patient in Denver might ask when looking for a dentist. All 24 answers came back, and together they named 73 different practices, clinics and services. 39 of those were named only once, and only 5 were named by all four assistants. Most practices that appeared at all appeared in a single answer.
The most-named practice was Corson Dentistry, in 8 of 24 answers and by all four assistants; 4 of those 8 mentions came from Google AI Mode. Metropolitan Dental Care followed with 6 answers (all four assistants), Accord Dental Group with 6 (three assistants) and Denver Dream Dentistry with 5 (three assistants). No practice appeared in more than a third of the answers. This is one run per question, so read the counts as a snapshot, not a ranking.
The assistants also gave lists of very different length. ChatGPT named 24 practices across its 6 answers, Gemini 34, Google AI Mode 35 and Copilot 45. Copilot's answer to the question about the highest patient ratings alone listed 12 practices.
Specific needs brought more agreement
The type of question made a clear difference. For the emergency question (a dentist who can see me today), all four assistants named Emergency Dental of Denver and Urgent Dental of Denver, and each put one of the two first. For the question about alternatives to Perfect Teeth for dental implants, all four named Perfect Teeth itself first, then listed implant and oral surgery practices.
The broad question about family dental care went the other way. Three assistants named Metropolitan Dental Care, but Copilot's five names did not appear in any of the other three answers to that question. A general "best dentist" question spreads the names; a concrete need narrows them, at least in this run.
The question about affordable care returned a different kind of answer: the CU Anschutz School of Dental Medicine, the Community College of Denver Dental Hygiene Clinic, Denver Health clinics and community health centers, next to a few private practices. Copilot also named the Colorado Dental Association, which is a professional association, not a practice. For a private practice that wants to be found on price, that is the field it shares the answer with.
Google AI Mode answered with Google Maps places
Our data All 6 of Google AI Mode's answers came as Google Maps places, 30 in total. Every one of them had 4.5 stars or more, the average was 4.9, the median number of reviews was about 690, and the practice with the fewest reviews still had 187.
That does not show that reviews are the reason a practice was shown. It only describes the Google Maps places in this snapshot: all had ratings of 4.5 stars or more, and their review counts ranged from 187 upward.
Where the names come from: websites cited for Denver dentists
Our data ChatGPT and Copilot attached source links to all 6 of their answers, Google AI Mode to 2, Gemini to none. The most-cited website was toprateddentist.com (4 of 24 answers), followed by bestofdenver.org, zocdoc.com and corsondentistry.com (3 each). denverdental.com, sedationdentistdenverco.com, denverhealth.org, the CU Anschutz dental school site (dental.cuanschutz.edu) and cdaonline.org, the Colorado Dental Association, were cited twice each. healthgrades.com appeared once.
That is a mix of "top dentist" list sites, a booking platform, the public health system, the dental school and practices' own websites. The own websites mattered most when the question was about a specific need: for the question about anxious patients, ChatGPT cited nine websites, most of them dental practices' own sites.
For a Denver practice, that means two things. Third-party lists and booking platforms feed the broad questions, and a clear page on your own site can be a source when a patient asks for something specific.
Where US dental practices are usually listed (advice): Google Business Profile (it feeds Google Maps), Yelp, Healthgrades, Zocdoc, the ADA's Find-a-Dentist directory and the provider directories of the dental insurance plans you accept. "Top dentist" list sites choose their own entries; before you pay any of them, check how they decide who is listed.
How patients ask about Denver dentists
Our six questions covered family care, anxious patients, price, reputation, a same-day emergency and alternatives to a known practice for implants. Real patients often add their insurance, their neighborhood or a specific treatment. Questions worth testing for your own practice, written the way people type them:
- "Dentist in Capitol Hill Denver that takes Delta Dental PPO"
- "Which dentist in Denver is open on Saturdays near Highland?"
- "How much is a crown at a Denver dentist without insurance?"
- "Kid-friendly dentist in Park Hill Denver for a 4-year-old"
- "Spanish-speaking dentist in west Denver accepting new patients"
Use your own neighborhood, the plans you accept and the treatments you want to be known for. A question without a place in it can return practices in another city.
Related snapshots: aesthetic clinics in San Diego and opticians in Boston.
What a dental practice can check about how AI assistants name it
Advice: these checks are practical and most can be done in an afternoon. None of them can promise a mention; they make the facts about your practice easy to find and hard to get wrong.
- List the insurance plans you accept, as text. Name the PPO networks, whether you take Medicaid, and whether you offer an in-house membership plan or payment options. Patients ask with their plan in the question, and a logo strip in an image says little to anyone reading the page as text.
- Say clearly whether you see emergencies the same day. The emergency question was where all four assistants agreed. If you take same-day emergency patients, put it near the top of the site with hours, a phone number and what to do after hours, and keep it identical on your Google profile.
- Describe comfort options for anxious patients. Which sedation or comfort options you offer, who provides them and what a first visit looks like. In this run, practices' own websites were cited most for the question about anxious patients.
- Give patients a price starting point. A new-patient exam fee for patients without insurance, or price ranges for common treatments, answers the "affordable dentist" question more concretely than "flexible financing available".
- One page per treatment you want to be found for. Implants, clear aligners, children's dentistry, cosmetic work: say who does it in your practice and whether you refer out. The implant question named several practices with "implant" in their name.
- Keep your Google Business Profile complete. All Google AI Mode answers here came as Maps places. Check categories (for example dentist and emergency dental service), hours including Saturdays, photos, and reply to reviews without confirming that the reviewer is a patient or mentioning treatment details, as privacy rules apply.
- Check the list and booking sites that were cited. Open Zocdoc, Healthgrades and the "top dentist" pages for Denver. Are you there? Are the dentists' names, address, hours and accepted plans correct?
How to check if ChatGPT names your own practice
Write five or six questions your patients would ask, with Denver or your neighborhood in them, and ask several assistants. Note who is named and which websites are cited, then repeat in a few weeks, because the answers change. CheckAI checks your own patient questions across the same four assistants and shows the names and cited websites for every answer; a first check on ChatGPT and Google AI Mode is free.
