Names as the assistants wrote them, grouped when they meant the same business. One run per question: answers change from run to run, so treat this as a snapshot. We are not affiliated with any business listed and don't rank or endorse them. How we measure
What ChatGPT and other assistants named for San Diego florists
Our data On October 14 we asked ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot six questions a customer in San Diego might ask when looking for a florist. All 24 answers came back, and together they named 43 different florists, studios and services. 19 of those were named only once, and 6 florists were named by all four assistants.
Allen's Flowers was named in 14 of 24 answers, including all 6 of Copilot's answers, and usually near the top of the list. Liz's Flowers followed with 12, House of Stemms and The Little Flower with 9 each, and Bloom Avenue and Eden Flowers with 7. This is one run per question, so read the counts as a snapshot, not a ranking.
For a florist in San Diego, that means a recognizable core group of six to eight shops showed up across most questions, with a long tail of names around them. Copilot gave the longest lists, 41 names across its 6 answers, against 26 for Gemini.
Weddings had their own florists
The question about large custom wedding arrangements brought up a different group. Chic Flowers was named by all four assistants there, Native Poppy by three, and Sisti & Co. and Snowberry Studio by two. Copilot's answer listed 11 names. Most of the shops from the everyday questions did not appear for weddings at all.
Everyday questions, familiar names
For same-day delivery, Allen's Flowers was named by all four assistants, and for reputation and reviews as well; Liz's Flowers appeared in three of the reputation answers. For fresh flower arrangements, Bloom Avenue was in all four answers, and Google AI Mode and Gemini both named House of Stemms first. The value question was the most scattered: a wholesale flower supplier, a market and several smaller shops, and Copilot also named online flower services.
The alternatives question named Teleflora
Asked for local San Diego florists besides Teleflora, Google AI Mode, Gemini and Copilot named Teleflora first, although Teleflora is a flower delivery network rather than a local shop. Liz's Flowers appeared in all four answers to that question, House of Stemms in three.
Google AI Mode answered with Google Maps places
Our data All 6 of Google AI Mode's answers came as Google Maps places, 33 in total. They averaged 4.8 stars, 94 percent had 4.5 stars or more, and the median number of reviews was 215; the florist with the fewest had 40. That does not show that reviews are the reason a shop was shown, only what the shops in these answers had in common.
Where the names come from: websites cited for San Diego florists
Our data ChatGPT and Copilot attached source links to all 6 of their answers, Google AI Mode to 1 and Gemini to none. The most-cited websites were review and list sites: Birdeye reviews, yably.com and threebestrated.com (4 of 24 answers each), then seolium.com and petalrepublic.com (3 each). The only florist's own site among the top sources was allensflowers.com (3). sandiegopicks.com, BloomNation, rainbowflowersca.com, The Knot, WeddingWire and Yahoo Local were cited twice each.
The sources included review aggregators, "best of" lists and florists' own websites. For the same-day delivery question, ChatGPT and Copilot cited several florists' own sites, and ChatGPT also cited florist directories and delivery services. For the wedding question, ChatGPT and Copilot cited The Knot, and ChatGPT also WeddingWire.
Where US florists are usually listed (advice): Google Business Profile (it feeds Google Maps), Yelp, BloomNation for local florist orders, The Knot and WeddingWire for weddings, and the directories of any flower delivery network you belong to. Review aggregators and "best of" lists choose and collect on their own, so you can't always list yourself there, but you can check that what they show about you is correct.
How customers ask about San Diego florists
Our six questions covered fresh arrangements, large custom wedding work, value, reputation and reviews, same-day delivery, and local alternatives to Teleflora. Customers often add an occasion, a neighborhood or a deadline. Questions worth testing, written the way people type them:
- "Sympathy flowers delivered to a funeral home in Chula Vista today"
- "Florist in North Park San Diego with locally grown flowers"
- "Small elopement bouquet in La Jolla"
- "Weekly flower subscription for an office in downtown San Diego"
- "Where can I order flowers directly from a local shop, not a delivery website?"
Use your own neighborhood, the occasions you serve and your delivery area. A question without a place in it can return national delivery services instead of shops.

What a florist can check about how AI assistants name it
Advice: these checks are practical and most can be done in an afternoon. None of them can promise a mention; they make the facts about your shop easy to find and hard to get wrong.
- State your delivery area and same-day cut-off. Neighborhoods and zip codes you deliver to, delivery fees, and the order time for same-day delivery, as text. For the same-day question, florists' own sites were cited.
- Show prices as text. Price ranges for bouquets, arrangements and sympathy pieces on your site, not only in an order widget. The value question was answered with a wide mix of names.
- Give weddings and events their own page. Your style, typical budgets or minimums, how a consultation works and the venues you have worked at. Then check your profiles on The Knot and WeddingWire.
- Make ordering direct easy to find. If customers can order from you directly instead of through a delivery network, say so plainly with a phone number and order link. One question asked for local florists besides Teleflora.
- Name your occasions and specialties. Sympathy, birthdays, corporate subscriptions, dried flowers, locally grown or seasonal stems: each in plain words, with San Diego and your neighborhood named.
- Keep hours right everywhere, also before holidays. Your site, Google Business Profile and Yelp should match, including extended hours around busy holidays.
- Check the lists that were cited. Open threebestrated.com, sandiegopicks.com, petalrepublic.com and the review pages on Birdeye and yably.com. Are you listed, with the right address, neighborhood and hours?
How to check if ChatGPT names your own shop
Write five or six questions your customers would ask, with San Diego or your neighborhood in them, and ask several assistants. Note who is named, which delivery services appear and which websites are cited, then repeat in a few weeks, because the answers change. CheckAI checks your own customer questions across the same four assistants and shows the names and cited websites for every answer; a first check on ChatGPT and Google AI Mode is free.
