Names as the assistants wrote them, grouped when they meant the same business. One run per question: answers change from run to run, so treat this as a snapshot. We are not affiliated with any business listed and don't rank or endorse them. How we measure

What the answers show about insurance brokers in Atlanta

Our data On October 14 we asked ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Gemini and Microsoft Copilot six questions someone in Atlanta might ask when looking for an independent insurance broker. All 24 answers came back. Together they named 76 different names, and 42 of them came up only once. Three were named by all four assistants. It was one run per question, so the counts are a snapshot, not a ranking.

Rob Hill Insurance Group was named in 12 of 24 answers, by all four assistants, and in every one of Google AI Mode's six answers. Haven Insurance Group followed with 8 answers, also from all four assistants, and The Oak Insurance Group with 8 from three. Siegel Insurance was named in 7 answers, 4 of them from Copilot. Acceptance Insurance and Advanced Insurors came up in 5 each.

For an independent agency in Atlanta, this means the answers were spread wide. A handful of names came back across assistants, but more than half of all names appeared just once. Copilot alone named 54 names across its 6 answers, ChatGPT 25.

Carriers and captive agents in the lists

Many names were not independent agencies. Gemini named insurance companies such as Chubb, Pure, Travelers, Auto-Owners and Nationwide in its answer to the general question, and State Farm and Allstate in the question about reviews. Travelers and Safeco were each named in 4 answers. Copilot also named individual agents tied to one company and, in one answer, the state association of independent agents.

For a client, a carrier and an independent agency are different things. The answers did not always keep them apart. As advice, state plainly on your own site what kind of agency you are and which companies you work with.

The Goosehead question named Goosehead

We asked for independent brokers in Atlanta as alternatives to Goosehead Insurance. All four assistants named Goosehead first. This question also produced the most names, 32 different ones; Gemini and Copilot listed 14 each, and Gemini's list mixed agencies with carriers such as Travelers, Progressive and Chubb. In this one question, the named company appeared in every assistant's answer.

Price and same-day coverage

Asked where to find an affordable broker with low fees, ChatGPT named a single agency, AM LIFE, and linked to eight websites, including the site of Georgia's insurance commissioner. For coverage the same day, Copilot listed ten names, among them several individual agents. In these two questions no name was repeated by three or more assistants except Rob Hill Insurance Group in the same-day question.

Google Maps: high stars, many reviews

Our data Google AI Mode answered all six questions with Google Maps places, 30 in total. They averaged 4.85 stars, and 97% had 4.5 stars or more. The median place had 197 reviews; the one with the fewest had 3.

That does not explain why an agency appeared. It only describes the Google Maps places in this snapshot: their median review count was 197, while one place had 3 reviews. The data does not show how a different review count would affect an answer.

Which websites the answers cite for insurance agencies

Our data Sourcing differed by assistant. ChatGPT and Copilot linked sources in all 6 of their answers, Gemini in 2 and Google AI Mode in only 1. The most-cited websites were insurancedirectory.com, a directory of agencies, and theoakinsurancegroup.com, an agency's own site, with 5 answers each. haveninsurancegroup.com, siegelinsurance.com, peachpointerisk.com and insurancebrokercompanies.com followed with 3 each.

Agency websites made up a large part of the list: aramatinsurance.com, advancedinsurors.com, burksinsurancega.com, go-guardian.com and robhillgroup.com were each cited in 2 answers. Rating and listing sites such as expertise.com (2), bbb.org, wallethub.com and yellowpages.com (1 each) appeared too, as did the agent locator pages of two insurance companies. In this industry, the agency's own site was often the source itself.

Where independent agencies are usually listed and reviewed (advice): the Google Business Profile (it feeds Google Maps), Yelp and the Better Business Bureau, the Trusted Choice agent finder of the independent agents' association, insurance agency directories, and the "find an agent" pages of the insurance companies you are appointed with. Clients can check an agent's license with the Georgia insurance commissioner's office.

How clients ask AI assistants about insurance brokers in Atlanta

Our six questions covered personal and business coverage, high-risk home and auto policies, low fees, reviews and reputation, same-day coverage and alternatives to Goosehead Insurance. Many people would type "independent insurance agent" rather than "broker", and they usually name the policy and their situation. Questions worth testing, written the way people type them:

  • "Independent insurance agent in Decatur who can quote home and auto with several companies"
  • "Who insures a small restaurant in Atlanta, general liability and workers comp?"
  • "Insurance agent in Marietta for a teen driver with a speeding ticket"
  • "Homeowners insurance for an older house in East Atlanta after a nonrenewal notice, who can help?"
  • "Commercial auto insurance for a landscaping company in Atlanta"

Use both words, agent and broker, plus the neighborhoods and suburbs you serve, and the lines of business you want more of.

What an insurance agency can check to show up in AI answers

Advice: these checks are concrete and most take an hour or two. None of them can promise a mention; they make the facts about your agency easy to find and hard to misread. Insurance advertising is regulated, so keep claims such as "lowest rates" or "same-day coverage" to what you can back up, and check them against your state's rules.

  1. Say what kind of agency you are. Independent, which companies you represent, and how that differs from a single-company agent. The answers mixed carriers and agencies; your site can make the difference clear.
  2. One page per line of business. Home, auto, high-risk drivers, renters, small business, commercial auto, life: a clear page each, saying who it is for and what you need from a client to quote.
  3. Describe the quote process and timing. One question asked for same-day coverage. Explain how a quote works, how long it usually takes, and when coverage can start, without promising what depends on the insurer.
  4. Explain how you are paid. One question asked about low fees. State whether you charge a broker fee or are paid by commission from the insurer.
  5. Show your license and service area. License details, the states you are licensed in and the areas you serve, for example Decatur, Marietta or Sandy Springs, as text on the site.
  6. Check carrier agent locator listings. Agent locator pages of insurance companies were cited. Make sure your listing on each company's "find an agent" page shows the correct name, address and phone number.
  7. Keep the Google Business Profile and reviews current. The Maps places had a median of 197 reviews. Ask clients for a review after a policy is placed or a claim is handled, and reply to reviews where it helps.

How to check whether ChatGPT names your insurance agency

Write down five or six questions your clients would ask, with Atlanta or your suburb and the type of policy, and put them to several assistants. Note who is named, whether carriers appear instead of agencies, and which websites are cited. Repeat after a few weeks, because answers change. CheckAI checks your own customer questions across the same four assistants and shows the names and cited websites for every answer; a first check on ChatGPT and Google AI Mode is free. Our guide on how to check if ChatGPT names your business walks through the manual version.

Questions

Which insurance brokers does ChatGPT recommend in Atlanta?
In our October 14 run, the four assistants gave 76 different names in 24 answers, 42 of them only once. Rob Hill Insurance Group was named most often, in 12 of 24 answers. One run per question, so a snapshot, not a ranking.
Do reviews matter for ChatGPT naming an insurance agency in Atlanta?
We cannot say how the assistants weigh reviews. In this run, the 30 Google Maps places in Google AI Mode's answers had a median of 197 reviews and 4.85 stars on average, and one had only 3 reviews. As advice, asking clients for a review after a policy is placed or a claim is handled is worth doing anyway, because people read them.
Why were insurance companies named when asked for independent brokers?
Several answers mixed carriers such as Travelers, Safeco, Chubb or State Farm into lists of agencies, and Copilot also named agents tied to one company. An independent agency can make the difference visible on its own site: which carriers it works with and that it compares them.
Does an insurance agency's own website get cited in AI answers?
Agency websites were among the most-cited sources in this run: theoakinsurancegroup.com in 5 of 24 answers, haveninsurancegroup.com and siegelinsurance.com in 3 each. Whether yours is cited depends on the question, so test the questions your clients ask.
How can I check whether ChatGPT names my insurance agency?
Ask several assistants the questions your clients ask, with the city or neighborhood written in, and repeat this over a few weeks, because answers change. CheckAI does this with your own questions across four assistants; a first check on ChatGPT and Google AI Mode is free.
